Introduction to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. (CBT) Tutor: Daleena Conlinn BA(HONS) Counselling/Psychotherapy. Accredited Member of the Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Overview of Course. This course is intended as an introduction to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Each session will include theory, practice, personal reflection and discussion. It is suitable for anyone who is interested in gaining a skill for use in their own personal development and also for anyone who is just curious about CBT. It is not a qualifying course for working with clients and does not involve an assessment. No prior knowledge of the subject is required and everyone is welcome. Week One: Introduction. Week Two: History, Theory and use of CBT. Week Three: Theory of Mind. Negative Thoughts, Assumptions and Core Beliefs. Week Four: Behavioural and Cognitive Strategies and Interventions. Week Five: CBT and Anxiety. CBT and Depression. Use of Beck’s Inventories. Week Six: Use of Mood Diaries. Use of Negative Thoughts Diaries. Week Seven: Personal application of the CBT approach. Week Eight: Conclusion. Course review.
